Turn your next holiday into a 5 star performance! Combine contemporary ensemble singing, vocal tuition and a live public concert with morning hikes through the stunning vistas of Europe’s most southerly point – Tarifa.
Based at our luxurious villa, Huerta Belinda, with adjoining accommodation in the Méson de Sancho hotel, this SER holiday offers a fun-filled vocal week for those who are happiest singing ensemble. There will be plenty of time out from singing classes to explore the natural beauty of Tarifa and neighboring villages. As with all Sing Eat Retreats, you will be hosted by incredibly experienced working professionals from the Theatre and Music Industry who will provide you with vocal & music tuition, whilst directing you in a live end of week performance.
Come and join us and spend your mornings walking the cloud forests, national parks, beaches and the shifting dunes of Tarifa. Take leisurely lunches at the villa – always served alongside breath-taking views of Africa. Then relax poolside before taking a deep dive into vocal classes and rehearsals.
Leigh Stanford Thompson, Musical Theatre MD and Choir Director, will create and rehearse a dynamic choir programme for an end of week public performance. Supporting him will be our resident vocal wizard Zev Caplan. Zev will provide you with expert vocal tuition classes – this is where you can get those tips and tricks to enhance your vocal ability and beat those vocal roadblocks.
We provide you with the tools to develop your voice so you can return to your own choir to show off your newfound vocal abilities!
Walking Activities
We have partnered with Sur Walks, led by local expert Johanna, who has a wealth of knowledge on the geology and fauna of Andalusia. Johanna will design three diverse excursions for the group ranging from cloud forest hikes to beach walks. One, depending on tides, will take you along the beaches and headlands of Tarifa, ending in the coastal beachside ruins Baelo Claudia, one of Andalusia’s most significant and well-preserved Roman archaeological cities.
Ability levels will be managed to meet the level of the walking group but none of the walks will be overly strenuous. We leave early morning to beat the warming sunny June afternoons.
Other Activities
Trekking is not obligatory! In the mornings you can choose to just relax, or take advantage of additional vocal coaching from our tutors. Alternatively you can arrange your own trips. Just 10 minutes away by car is the ancient port town of Tarifa and we are only 30 minutes away from the Rock of Gibraltar! For the more adventurous Tarifa is famed for its water sports and there are plenty of kite surfing schools to get you started. Whale watching trips are also readily available. This is a relaxed week – do as much or as little extra activity as you want. We just ask that you participate fully in the singing and end of week show.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided by our amazing guest chefs. As always, Sing Eat Retreat holidays place great food front centre stage. Eating is a time to bond with new friends and learn about the professional adventures of our tutors and directors from the world of theatre and music.

Travel
FLY TO MALAGA – Flights are available from most UK and European cities to Málaga – one and a half hour’s drive from the retreat.
FLY TO GIBRALTAR – There are direct flights to Gibraltar from London and Manchester. Gibraltar airport is a 40 minute drive, once across the border.
TRANSFERS
We usually arrange one transfer from each airport. The cost is variable dependent on how many people have requested a transfer. We use official transfer companies and simply pass on the costs.
Malaga – book your flight to arrive no later than 1:30pm for an approx. transfer of 2pm. Budget around £55 each way.
Gibraltar – Transfer will usually leave the Spanish border side around 2pm. Earlier if everyone is on earlier flights. Budget around £35 each way.
PLEASE NOTE – Final costs and times are dependent on requests received and flight arrival times.
Transfers will depart on check out day in time to get you to Malaga by 11am and Gibraltar by 11:30am
We will gather your transfer requirements and flight details once we have received your Singing Holiday Booking.
Coach Travel – Malaga Airport to Algeciras via Avanza Bus. Book online or there is a ticket booth at the airport. Algeciras is a 15 minute journey to the villa in a Taxi.
How it Works
Days are split between group singing and rehearsals, 1 to 1 sessions, and smaller group sessions in hourly classes starting from 9am through to early evening. There will be plenty of breaks and chances for time out.
For the smaller groups sessions and 1 to 1 coaching you will be allocated to a coach that is best suited to your vocal abilities, but everyone will get a chance to work with all coaches throughout the week.
Rehearsals are the most exciting part of the day when everyone comes together to learn the repertoire for the end of week show.
Food
We know amazing food and new taste experiences are key to a great holiday so we carefully choose chefs who can deliver fresh, healthy, balanced menus showcasing the wealth of fabulous produce of Spain via a variety of local traditional dishes and international cuisine.
This holiday includes all meals and snacks, wine, beer or softs with dinner, except on one night when the group will eat out at their own expense.
The Accommodation
THE VILLA
Huerta Belinda, where the Singing Holiday takes place, is a majestic large mansion in the small and natural urbanisation of El Cuarton. It is 8km from bohemian Tarifa and its wonderful beaches. The mansion has a beautiful pool and gardens, lovely patios for relaxing and magnificent views. There are eight bedrooms at the villa sleeping a total of 17 people.
HOTEL MESÓN DE SANCHO
Offsite and just a 2-minute drive away is Mesón de Sancho, a quaint, traditional Spanish hotel. The bedrooms offer heating, television, telephone, full bathroom, free Wi-Fi and the hotel itself is set in beautiful gardens for your relaxation, plus outdoor pool and gym.
Those opting to stay at the hotel will benefit from more budget friendly sole occupancy rates, whilst benefiting from all the facilities, meals and drinks at the villa. Free transfers are provided between the hotel and villa.
Tarifa, Spain is the most southerly town in mainland Europe and is only 14km from Africa. The views from Huerta Belinda look across to Africa over the Strait of Gibraltar. Tarifa is a world-class kitesurfing destination and the Strait of Gibraltar is full of dolphins and whales who crisscross from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic.
The nearest airports are Gibraltar (30 minutes) and Málaga (1 hour 30 minutes).
